Boy, I have been busy since the last post! Let’s do a quick rundown, with pictures, of course.
First, at the beginning of April, I saw Fortune Feimster. If you don’t know who she is, then you are missing out. This comedian has 3 stand-up specials on Netflix. If you get time to watch them, please do. I made my husband take me, and we had a great date night.

The very next night, I got a second date. We were fortunate enough to see Journey’s Final Frontier Tour. Yep, I am a GenXer! Journey was a major part of my teen years. I can’t tell you how many of their songs I listened to while cruising Main St. in an electric blue 1967 Mustang. Don’t tell Daddy, but I raced more than one car on those warm summer nights. A quick word of warning: Never, EVER, leave a 16-year-old girl with a bad ass attitude unsupervised with a bad ass car!!! The boys desperately tried to look under ” the hood.” I LOVED that car and cried when it finally went away.
The very next Sunday was Easter. Enough said!
The weekend after Easter, I attended the SinC (Sisters in Crime) Tornado Ally conference, which is the start of conference season for me. It is a small one-day affair that is full of great people, great topics, and a lot of networking.
Then I broke my heel, if there is a hair on the floor, I will trip over it and break something (probably me!). This time it was a tree root. On my way into the library to meet with my critique partner, I went down in spectacular fashion. After leaving the library, my next visit was to an urgent care facility. After one look at the x-ray the little guy said, “Wow, 4 breaks!” My jaw hit the floor. It took him a minute to explain that those were the old brakes. Yes, folks, I have broken the same foot 4 different times. That should tell you something. He didn’t see anything new, but I was in to my doctor the following Friday. I knew there was something else going on. After an MRI, my heel is broken next to the joint. Oh joy!

Then came the OWFI conference. I’ve been going there for a long, long, long time. It was the first conference I ever attended, and with only a brief absence while I was becoming a mother, I’ve not missed many of them. This year, I was honored with a spotlight at the Famous Authors’ banquet. The banquet honors all authors published since the last conference and a keynote speech from a Famous Author. This year’s speaker was Mercedes Yardley.

Now, you are up to date. I promise not to disappear again, unless I have a really good reason 😉
